Milter filters¶
In the console: Settings › MTA › Filters › Milters
Outside mail filters (milters) that get a look at each incoming message, such as a virus scanner.
Milter settings¶
Hostname¶
Hostname or IP address of the server where the Milter filter is running.
Text. Name in the API: hostname.
Port¶
Network port on the Milter filter host server.
A number. Default: 11332. Name in the API: port.
Enable¶
Expression that determines whether to enable this milter.
Settings of their own: see Expression. Name in the API: enable.
Enable TLS¶
Whether to use Transport Layer Security (TLS) for the connection between the server and the Milter filter.
On or off. Name in the API: useTls.
Allow Invalid Certs¶
Whether the server should connect to a Milter filter server that has an invalid TLS certificate.
On or off. Name in the API: allowInvalidCerts.
Options¶
Run on stages¶
Which SMTP stages to run the milter on.
A list. Each one: one of: Connect (connect), EHLO (ehlo), AUTH (auth), MAIL FROM (mail), RCPT TO (rcpt), DATA (data). Default: DATA. Name in the API: stages.
Max Response¶
Maximum size, in bytes, of a response that the server will accept from this Milter server.
A size in bytes (KB, MB and GB are accepted). Default: 50 MB. Name in the API: maxResponseSize.
Protocol Version¶
Version of the Milter protocol that the server should use when communicating with the Milter server.
One of: Version 2 (v2), Version 6 (v6). Default: Version 6. Name in the API: protocolVersion.
TempFail on Error¶
Whether to respond with a temporary failure (typically a 4xx SMTP status code) when the server encounters an error while communicating with this Milter server.
On or off. Default: On. Name in the API: tempFailOnError.
Action Flags¶
Optional flags to set on the Milter connection. See the Milter protocol documentation for details on available flags.
A number. Name in the API: flagsAction.

Timeouts¶
Connection¶
Maximum amount of time that the server will wait to establish a connection with this Milter server.
A length of time. Default: 30s. Name in the API: timeoutConnect.
Command¶
How long the server will wait to send a command to the Milter server.
A length of time. Default: 30s. Name in the API: timeoutCommand.
Data¶
Maximum amount of time the server will wait for a response from the Milter server.
A length of time. Default: 1m. Name in the API: timeoutData.
