Keyboard shortcuts¶
This page lists every keyboard shortcut in INBUXA Webmail, so you can get around without the mouse. They are always on; there is nothing to switch on.
To see the list inside the app, press ? anywhere, or open Settings › Keyboard shortcuts.
Start with these¶
| Keys | Does |
|---|---|
| C | Write a new message |
| / | Search mail |
| J / K | Next / previous conversation |
| E | Archive |
| G then I | Go to Inbox |
| Ctrl+Enter | Send |
How they behave¶
- On a Mac, Ctrl means Cmd. INBUXA Webmail picks the right key for your computer, and the in-app list shows which one it picked.
- Some shortcuts are two keys, one after the other — not held together. For G then I, press G, let go, then press I within 1.2 seconds. If you are too slow, the sequence is forgotten. The first key does nothing on its own.
- Nothing happens while you are typing — in a text box, a search field, a dropdown or the message editor. The exception is three shortcuts for writing mail, marked below, because you want them mid-sentence.
- Nothing happens while a dialog or menu is open. They handle their own keys, so Esc closes the dialog instead of reaching the mail list behind it.
- The same letter can do different things on different screens. N is the next message in a conversation, but the next period — day, week or month — in the calendar. A is reply all in mail, but agenda view in the calendar. Where a screen has no shortcut of its own for a key, the ones under Getting around still work.
Getting around¶
These work on every screen.
| Keys | Does |
|---|---|
| ? | Show this list |
| / | Search mail |
| C | Compose a new message |
| G then I | Go to Inbox |
| G then S | Go to Starred |
| G then T | Go to Sent |
| G then D | Go to Drafts |
| G then A | Go to All mail / Archive |
| G then L | Go to Calendar |
| G then C | Go to Contacts |
| G then F | Go to Files |
| G then K | Go to Settings |
The message list¶
| Keys | Does |
|---|---|
| J | Next conversation |
| K | Previous conversation |
| O | Open conversation |
| U | Back to the list |
| Esc | Back to the list, or clear the selection if there is one |
| X | Select this conversation |
| Ctrl+A | Select all |
Acting on a conversation¶
If you have selected conversations, these act on all of them. Otherwise they act on the conversation you are on. For example, X X X then E archives three.
| Keys | Does |
|---|---|
| E | Archive |
| # | Delete |
| ! | Report spam, or not spam |
| S | Star, or unstar |
| Shift+I | Mark as read |
| Shift+U | Mark as unread |
| V | Move to… |
| L | Label… |
You can undo every one of these from the message that pops up afterwards.
Inside a conversation¶
| Keys | Does |
|---|---|
| R | Reply |
| A | Reply all |
| F | Forward |
| N | Next message in the conversation |
| P | Previous message in the conversation |
| ] | Archive, and open the next conversation |
Writing a message¶
These three work while you are typing — that is the point of them.
| Keys | Does |
|---|---|
| Ctrl+Enter | Send |
| Ctrl+S | Save draft |
| Esc | Close the composer, saving the draft |
Calendar¶
| Keys | Does |
|---|---|
| T | Today |
| N | Next period |
| P | Previous period |
| D | Day view |
| W | Week view |
| M | Month view |
| A | Agenda view |
| C | New event |
Aliases¶
These also work. They are left out of the in-app list, because a second key for the same thing makes the list harder to read.
| Alias | Same as |
|---|---|
| Down / Up | J / K |
| Enter | O — open |
| Y | E — archive |
| Del | # — delete |
Screens without shortcuts¶
Contacts and Files have no shortcuts of their own. The Getting around shortcuts still work there: G then C takes you to Contacts, and / still reaches search. Inside them, use the mouse or Tab.
