From Open-Xchange¶
Read Coming from another server first. This page covers what is particular to Open-Xchange App Suite.
App Suite is a front end. The mail lives on an IMAP server behind it, most often Dovecot. Calendars, contacts, tasks and Drive files live in App Suite's own database. So the move comes in two halves: the mail and the accounts, from the backend, and the groupware data, from App Suite.
Who people are¶
App Suite checks passwords with an authentication plugin, and the plugin
says where the accounts really are. Look at which
open-xchange-authentication-* package is installed:
-ldap: an LDAP directory, often Active Directory. That is choice A if it stays, with the Active Directory settings or your own LDAP's. The plugin'sldapauth.propertieshas the URL, base DN and filter to start from.-imap: passwords are checked by the IMAP backend. Whatever the backend signs in against is the directory; see the Postfix and Dovecot page for a Dovecot backend.- Anything else, such as a single sign-on plugin: start from what that plugin talks to.
App Suite's own users, contexts and groups are provisioning records. They don't hold passwords, and they don't need to come across as such. Contexts often map to customers; if they do, tenants are the closest thing in inbuxa.
Copying the mail¶
From the IMAP backend, not through App Suite. For Dovecot, including OX Dovecot Pro, use a master user as on the Postfix and Dovecot page. Any other backend has its own administrator login; imapsync's FAQ covers most of them.
Calendars, contacts and files¶
App Suite exports from its own menus. Each person exports each calendar as
iCalendar (.ics) and each address book as vCard (.vcf), and imports them
in the webmail. See importing a calendar
and importing contacts.
App Suite also serves CalDAV and CardDAV, if they are enabled on your install. A client that talks to both servers can copy the collections across instead.
Drive files download from App Suite, and go into inbuxa's Files. Tasks don't have a place to go yet.
What doesn't come across¶
- OX Guard. Mail encrypted with Guard stays encrypted after it's copied. People need their keys to read it, so have them export their keys from Guard before it's turned off.
- App Suite settings and portal widgets. Nothing to copy.
- Shared calendars and folders. Set sharing up again in inbuxa; see Sharing.
