Connection Strategies¶
In the console: Settings › MTA › Outbound › Connection Strategies
How outgoing connections are made: which local address and name to use, and timeouts. For specialists.
Connection Strategy¶
Name¶
Short identifier for the strategy.
Text. Set when it’s created; can’t be changed afterwards. Name in the API: name.
Description¶
Short description of the connection strategy.
Text. Name in the API: description.
EHLO Hostname¶
Overrides the EHLO hostname that will be used when connecting using this strategy.
Text. Name in the API: ehloHostname.
Timeouts¶
Connect¶
Maximum time to wait for the connection to be established.
A length of time. Default: 5m. Name in the API: connectTimeout.
Greeting¶
Maximum time to wait for the SMTP greeting message.
A length of time. Default: 5m. Name in the API: greetingTimeout.
EHLO¶
Maximum time to wait for the EHLO command response.
A length of time. Default: 5m. Name in the API: ehloTimeout.
MAIL-FROM¶
Maximum time to wait for the MAIL-FROM command response.
A length of time. Default: 5m. Name in the API: mailFromTimeout.
RCPT-TO¶
Maximum time to wait for the RCPT-TO command response.
A length of time. Default: 5m. Name in the API: rcptToTimeout.
DATA¶
Maximum time to wait for the DATA command response.
A length of time. Default: 10m. Name in the API: dataTimeout.
Source IP Addresses¶
Source IPs¶
List of local IPv4 and IPv6 addresses to use when delivering emails to remote SMTP servers.
A list, each with the settings in MTA connection IP host. Name in the API: sourceIps.
