IMAP¶

Authentication settings¶
Max Failures¶
Number of authentication attempts a user can make before being disconnected by the server.
A number. Default: 3. Name in the API: maxAuthFailures.
Allow plain text authentication¶
Whether to allow plain text authentication on unencrypted connections.
On or off. Name in the API: allowPlainTextAuth.
Request Limits¶
Request Size¶
Maximum size of an IMAP request that the server will accept.
A size in bytes (KB, MB and GB are accepted). Default: 50 MB. Name in the API: maxRequestSize.
Messages per Command¶
Maximum number of messages processed by a single FETCH, SEARCH, STORE, MOVE or UID EXPUNGE command, announced to clients through the MESSAGELIMIT capability. Lowering this truncates results for clients that do not implement RFC 9738.
A number. Default: 1000000. Name in the API: maxMessagesPerCommand.
Messages per Copy or Append¶
Maximum number of messages accepted by a single COPY or APPEND command, announced to clients through the SAVELIMIT capability. These commands are atomic, so exceeding the limit stores nothing; keep it at or above the MESSAGELIMIT value.
A number. Default: 1000000. Name in the API: maxMessagesPerSave.
UID Batches¶
Minimum Batch Size¶
Smallest batch size a client may ask for in a UIDBATCHES command; smaller requests are rejected with a TOOFEW response code. Cannot exceed 500, which is the batch size every server is required to support.
A number. Default: 500. Name in the API: minUidBatchSize.
Maximum Batches¶
Maximum number of UID ranges returned by a single UIDBATCHES command; wider requests are rejected with a TOOMANY response code.
A number. Default: 10000. Name in the API: maxUidBatches.
Timeouts¶
Authenticated¶
Time an authenticated session can remain idle before the server terminates it.
A length of time. Default: 30m. Name in the API: timeoutAuthenticated.
Anonymous¶
Time an unauthenticated session can stay inactive before being ended by the server.
A length of time. Default: 1m. Name in the API: timeoutAnonymous.
Idle¶
Time a connection can stay idle in the IMAP IDLE state before the server breaks the connection.
A length of time. Default: 30m. Name in the API: timeoutIdle.
Rate Limiting¶
Requests¶
The maximum number of requests per minute.
Settings of their own: see Rate. Name in the API: maxRequestRate.
Concurrent¶
The maximum number of concurrent connections.
A number. Default: 16. Name in the API: maxConcurrent.
